Wendell, Wendall, any way you use it, is Germanic and connotes the wanderer, and, Wendell was just that.

I was walking home on a cloudy day and out of the corner of my eye i saw him, standing stockstill, and expressionless. I was struck by this attire and attitude. I would see him next at 167th and Morris Avenue, and i had my gear, but he slipped away. Months later i would catch him at Third Avenue and Claremont Avenue, in the sun, where he didn’t escape capture.
