South of Farmington, New Mexico on the way to the Bisti Badlands, is San Juan Mission cemetery in Northwest New Mexico. It’s working-class, reservation-era cemetery, for Navajo Catholics.Its heydays were between 1920 and 1950, and got its start around 1900. The cemetery has nothing to do with the colonial Spanish era and only came about after there was peace.
