When John D. Rockefeller began what became the modern oil industry he built his “Homestead” and dream house at his Forest Hill Estate in what is now East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights.
Mr. Rockefeller wound up disliking Cleveland and forgetting it, and the feeling was mutual, only to return to be buried at Laeview Cemetery two miles east of here.
