The Bronx in the 1920s was bursting with Jews, until, by 1960, they made up half the borough. There was a Yiddish theatre on Prospect Ave. that had quite the scandal. Although this is a picture of the old Bronx Art Theatre on Southern Blvd., it captures the reaction to that theatrical and real-life event.
