The shops that line Willet’s Point Avenue, behind Lucy are gone. This shot was taken in 2016. Lucy, who would bounce between Columbia and New York, and had a great love for America, but she hasn’t been in the Junkyards or New York, for years, since the Trump years.
Lucy and another friend, an icon of the Junkyards, Chris, were living together before she left. Chris died in September, 2020.
In August, 2021, i saw Lucy back in the Junkyards, looking the same and also reminding me that, America, she loves it.
