In Billings Montana (1989) in the South Side neighborhood, literally, “across the tracks” from downtown is completely working-class, whites and Native American Indian mostly, with remntals going to a mix of low-rung blue-collar folks, drunks and the usual sloopies from the poor part of town. One of the city’s refineries is located here along the Yellowstone River, as well as another fossil fuel power plant. The city’s skid row was alo here parallel to the railroad tracks, an]nbout ten blocks norh.
A home on the south side had these hand-made signs, as well, a fence made of a collection of license plates.
