WHAT PRICE, GONE?

Epigrams

In an assessment of action and grief, there’s no benefit, let alone profit, in shooting the good, bad, decrepit, known, lost, forgotten and found. There is a price.

Opened in 1894, the Tifereth Israel Temple on East 55th Street and Central Avenue (originally known as The Willson Avenue Temple) is the oldest still-standing synagogue building in the city. It became the Friendship Baptist Church from 1940, until 2014, when, it’s congregation, down to 40 senior citizens, finally gave up the ghost, officially, as scrappers trashed the electrical system, for copper, on the night of a final meeting to try to somehow save the church.
