HUNGARIAN FLAG

Epigrams

In 2009 the Cleveland Diocese decided to close many parishes and churches, all of them ethnic. One of these churches was the Hungarian St. Emeric. It was closed and on the day of the last Mass and gathering, the church reamined filled, after the services, as people didn’t want to go. People brought their flags and memorabilia that day, which, as an experience, was truly amazing, when the church, filled with folks, wandering and socializing for a long time, before the doors closed.

Miraculously, somehow, it was reopened and is flourishing today. It’s also, because of economic changes, sitting on some of the most valuablee land in the city.
