Media often takes on the task of trying to change historical/social conditions. Sometimes that happens like in the case of Blackfish, Harvest of Shame or Saigon Execution by Eddie Adams.
Usually, though, image and text picks away at the subject, and, over time things gain acceptance, then change. Back in the time of the conquistadors before photography, there was the printing press and illustrations. By word of text and word-of-mouth things get slowly back then. Today it can be instantaneous.
Unfortunately, the load of text and images, particularly images, has exponentially exploded creating a certain amount of dilution.
There used to be 4 television channels, and grabbing those limited outlets’ attention for a given subject would lead to a massive impact. It received spotlight treatment. Now with so many options on a media level…look where we’re at in 2026 with art and politics. Is there direction, focus or just chaos from nomad tranasactional monads?
