In 2009 the Catholic diocese in Cleveland began to close many ethnic churches of long standing. Here at St. Casimir, a Polish parish, the protests were many and of great duration. One Sunday, after the vigil held every week since the church closed, an ardent Cleveland Browns supporter, demonstrated the link between the bishop of Cleveland, Bishop Lennon and Art Model, the former owner of the Cleveland Browns, that left 12 years prior to this shot.
There is no greater sin than removing a sports franchise or a Catholic Polish parish in this town.
