Mingo Mural Cover

The painting of downtown Mingo Junction, complete with a Mingo Indian, adorns the city hall and police department lobby. The Blast Furnaces were run by Wheeling Pitt Steel and were closed and demolished by 2010. It had a lively downtown strip, now mostly closed businesses. The north side of the street is lined with commercial buildings from the 1880s, and are now just facades awaiting demolition. The roofs have all collapsed and the back walss have fallen.

The police station for Mingo was also on Commercial Avenue at the north end. It’s still there and operartional.
