What Price, Audio

Multiform

A broken wrist was the price paid for another Buckey New Year, an annual event that i fully participate in, with multiple field recorders, where. thanks to digital, i place in different neighborhoods, in abandonobed homes, factories and churches, as well as, open areas like parks, dumps and wastelands.

To give you an idea of both the danger and novelty of these yearly recordings, here’s a sample from 1995, when i was in Woodland Hills Park, in the middle of a big and open space, that featured a small play are sunken, and sided with railroad ties. There, using a nagra recorder and two mikes – a shotgun and cardiod. the shotgun was on a handheld boom, in a blimp, over an iron fence on top of the timbers.

I was bowing down, but holding yhe boom, when, an explosion, accompanid by a flash that lit the immediate landscapep. He then proceeded to aim, and, slowly, 🔊 squeeze off four shots from his .357 pistol.
