West portal, south tracks, Bergen Tunnels, Jersey City, 1997. Passenger cars are pushed through the tunnel into Hoboken by diesel locomtives.
East portal, north tracks, Bergen Tunnels, Hoboken, 1999. The camera was rigged to a signal, steadied by 40 pound sandbags, all was hidden by a large black cloth, with the lens held open for one hour. Somehow the shot was absolutely sharp, because of the
steadiness of the rigging.
