While shooting Roebling bridge in Cincinnati during a Sunday afternoon i saw 15 barges heading upriver and recorded the sound as they passed below from the deck of the bridge directly above them. When I looked down I saw each barge was loaded with iron ore which meant one thing, it was heading up River to one of the steel mills most likely in Steubenville, or Mingo Junction, Ohio or, Weirton West Virginia, or even, as far as Braddock where the U S Steel’s Edgar Thompson works is located, east of Pittsburgh.
