CELEBRITY

When it comes to ego, narcissim and ambition, there isn’t much difference, but, for style,  between left and right, politics and entertainment, and, both, in fact, successfully mine their own digestive tracts, sacrificing character, with transactional living, boreholing into the endless depths of the get-mine, in media and politics.

The champions of misinformation and the transactional “lifestyle” deserve each other, and not us, who watch, gawk, ctiticize or approve. Artists, entertainers, and, now, more than ever, politicians acting, posing and performing for our pleasure and/or disgust, depending on your view,

I’ve left out so many on the politically correct left, including Weinstein, Spacek, Close and Roma. The art world, traditionally a haven for the dysfunctional, has recently revised the sanctuary status for the sexual escapades of its Names, just like the Catholic church, another institution, but in the art world, it’s mostly about heterosexual encounters amongst white male artist perpertrating on white females, in the form of the Creepy Professor or just plain creepy Professional Artists, like Fred “Gumpy” Valentine, one who i once had contact with and represents the union of pure narcissism and dysfunction.

Another prime transgression of the liberal media whore, is the unerasable sin of gentrification, the updated version of colonialism, where displacement of natives still occurs today. There are many examples such as Mark Zuckerberg’s ambition to gobble up the ancestral lands that surround his Hawiian estate. I’d add his picture, but he is so physically repulsvie, to the point, i almost believe he actually is a lizard, like the poor, powerless trolls who come up with that shit, like Grand Asshole, Alex Jones, although Mr. Jones doesn’t play the phoney, he’s got absolutely no filter, as a repulsive form of celebrity, and his transacional side is kept completeley separate from his prime business of misinformation.

Working-class neighborhoods are now declared art districts to attract development, as art is seen as one of the great attractors for that sort of thing. For the first time in history there is a clear and open connection with art and real estate, but i wonder what the two are doing in the same bed together. I’ve read curators and museum people wax poetic about the link between their art shows and urban economic development, as they raise money for their triennials, biennials and annual shows. And more awards and self-promotion ceremonies than country music, or BET.

Art and economic developmentnot, linked, philosohically, now, as the business of art and real estate – based on limited editions, scracity, overvaluations, and the fact that art and real esate is property, and, as such, an investment.

What’s worse, getting canceled or losing to Trump?

I’m anti-celebrity the same way Walker Evans was. Ignoring it and shooting it’s opposite. But i also crossed the line, by reacting and not acting, relying on sarcasm where it works best, in the acknowledged impossible situation that only humor can express – the imposssibility of narcissim, ego and self-love when it comes to truth.

Of course, ya got your Hollywood actor and global politician pushing further the eqaution of clebrity = asshole.
