In East Cleveland, in an empty lot, a patriotic tribute to the lightbulb has been created. East Cleveland had general electric lightbulb manufacturing plants within its city limits, beginning with Nela Park which was America’s first industrial campus housing offices and research facilities. Across the street from Nela Park on Euclid Avenue was a large light bulb plant and along Noble Road there were more manufacturing facilities which are either gone or a abandoned and sealed. However the Nela Park campus is still open and running by General Electric.
