In November, 2023, two fishing buddies throw their lines into the Harlem River at the 207th Street Bridge to the left and the MTA Inwood yards to the right. Behind them new apartments are being constructed, part of a huge building boom in Inwood, because zoning from industrial to residential, along the river ha passed. Thus the fishing spot, pier, and other areas out of sight, will be gone within two years.
Any spot that’s accessible, in some way, is fished along this stretch of the river. Who knows, maybe the public will have access to the river once the construction is done, but it won’t be the same.
