I couldn’t believe hearing the words, dead trees, during the start of the tech boom. The fact that computers would save so many trees from becoming paper, wasn’t a fact, but, an excuse.
Jump forward to 2025 when I’m writing this. Data centers, combined with artificial intelligence will, at least, double the amount of energy required nationally. No wonder, Bill Gates, years ago, was looking into small nuclear reactors to produce electricity now that the data centers in the artificial intelligence companies are openly by closed power plants, including 3 mile island, it’s pretty clear, but the future will be.
Curiously, I wonder how many dead trees will resolve from doubling the amount of power plants in the world? Natural gas our plants are less polluting than call, but they still pollute. Obviously nuclear power creates eternal waste. That leaves, solar, geothermal and wind.
Dead trees. Such a line of bullshit in its time, and, forgotten now.
Where I live, 20,000 years ago, there was 1 mile deep ice. Today, however, we can very quickly produce our own self-destruction, and, not have to wait thousands of years for our extinction.
