We could easily see the Towers fall the day before from the block. We were on our stoops and sidewalk the next day early in the morning. In the bacground to the right Frankie, Marion, her son, and Blanche. Her daughter, Veronica, was still stuck in Manhattan, she worked at Bear Sterns at Battery Park. Johhnie Palumbo came by, and hang out on the stoop, that’s Johnnie’s car to the left. The guy on the left is Raif, and lives next door, he used to live above Jerry’s Bar and worked there, until, Jerry retired and the building was sold. Jerry got Raif rooms on Union Avenue, next door, so we saw more of each other.
The poster came to us early that morning via Johnnie Palumbo, and eveyone got one, which we really appreciated. Did a ton of freelance work at Windows on the World, right up until it was gone, and will always remember looking down at Union Avenue from Tower 1, or North Tower on those jobs.
